The last few guitardubs were recorded a couple of days ago. After an unexpected (?) vocal contribution that’s going to be recorded tonight, the mixing process will have it’s start in just a few days. Good times.

studio work.

As we all have boring every-day lives, the progress in the studio has been kinda slow. But we are beginning to see a dim light in the end of the tunnel. We still have some additional guitars, some vocal tracks and some noise to add to the doom-pot and Kristofer will hopefully begin the mixing process before the end of October.

Kvällens avslut blir, trots arrangemangets två tidigare akter en rejält mycket mer minimalistisk historia. Det S:t Erik som på deras myspace-sida erbjudit tämligen catchig och svängig stonerdoom har trappats ner några pinnar, och ligger nu och skvalpar i kölvattnet hos de riktigt tunga och extrema båtarna i genren. Jag blir lite besviken över att inte få höra de suveräna låtar som jag fastnade för från första början, men blir snart uppslukad igen. Det är ett hypnotiskt, monotont drivande som i sina allra bästa stunder för tankarna till Sleeps mästerliga 64-minuters-epos ”Dopesmoker”, och det får mig emellanåt att minnas varför jag var så insnöad i genren för en fyra-fem år sedan. Det är långsamt, förkrossande tungt och psykedeliskt transartat på ett rått och skitigt sätt. Precis som det ska vara.

the mini-bravery-tour.

The trip was great.

Nice people, nice places, nice food and drinks. A small praise to Martin Sandström for joining us on tour and to SNM.

The way back home was a disaster.

We ran out of gas on the way home and had to park the doomobile on the verge of a busy motorway (E4an) with cars speeding by in galactic speed just 30cm from ours. We had to hang out in a ditch to avoid getting killed. A two hour walk back and forth to a gas station was settled just to learn that the battery had given up on us aswell. Another hour went by and a towing car was summoned and the doomobile was back on the streets again, leaving us with a hole c:a1500SEK deep in the doompurse.

Last night at GH nation.

Despite the power cut resulting in a total blackout at the very end of our last song, last night was a good start of our “tour” and we had a great audience turnout, the organizer even told us at the end of the night that the place was so crowded that they had to form a queue outside at one point.

Anyways, we had nothing more to wish for – lots of cheap/free beer, a great performance from our new found friends in Seven Nautical Miles and a cramped afterparty at Erik’s place.

Our friend Martin Sandström dropped by last night to pay us a visit and enrich two tracks with his grisgitarr.

Some of us have gone back to our every day life and the studio work has therefore been very sporadic. We are slowly making progress though, the vocals are pretty much close to completion and we have some additional guitars and some walls of noise to add to some of the tracks.

In other news, we are spending some time in our rehersal room rehersing for the upcoming short Swedish “tour” which will start with a show here in Uppsala next wednesday.
